Fired-Up is a Christian non-denominational discipleship group, instructing youth age twelve to college, and their parents about how to walk as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Fired-Up is not a typical church youth group, but rather draws families from many surrounding churches. Parents are given exhortation, training, prayer, and accountability in their walk with the Lord. Youth learn from the Word, and gain the skills of listening to the Spirit, obedience to God, and purity in relationships. This is done through applied teaching, small group discussion, and scripture memorization with the goal of creating the next generation of leaders to impact our culture. We do this because of our desire at Fired-Up to please Jesus in all we do, think, and say.
For some it can be difficult to understand what makes Fired-Up Discipleship unique from other youth groups. Here you will find that the youth activities reflect a distinctively conservative Christian worldview. We consider it a real responsibility to provide a learning atmosphere free from the influences that can so easily turn hearts away. We know many things for children and parents can pull their focus away from God. If the focus becomes worldly attire, bad attitudes, coupling up, and immoral music for a child (or parent for that matter), then the focus isn't on Jesus Christ. We gently, but firmly ask that before starting with Fired-Up, and while you are here, that you examine your motives carefully. Your only goal while here should be to seek God with your whole heart and to be a reflection not of the world, but of Jesus Christ.
Core Values
Our Core Values at Fired-Up are that…
…We are a youth and family discipleship group, not a typical youth group (Mat 28:19-20, 1 Cor 13:11).
…We purposely draw youth and families from many churches because the body of Christ represents all true believers (1 Cor 12:12-13).
…We emphasize turning the hearts of the fathers to their children and the children to their fathers. As such we don't have a youth leader, we will have many youth leaders...they are called FATHERS! (Mal 4:6)
…We strive to provide an environment of purity where the opposite sex is seen as brothers and sisters in the Lord, rejecting flirtatious actions, attitudes, and dress (Gal 5:16).
…We stress learning the Word, listening to the Spirit, and obedience to God in all things through applied teaching, small group discussion, and scripture memorization (Deut 11:19, Eph 4:11-15).
…We endeavor to build up men and women with the practical experience to be strong, Godly servant leaders, impacting the culture for Christ, whether in a church, family, or business (2 Tim 2:15, Mat 5:14-16).
…We offer parents exhortation, training, prayer, and accountability in their walk as they and their families grow in the wisdom of the Lord (Psa 86:11).
…We encourage living in a way that pleases Jesus in all we do, think, and say, because of all He has done for us (Phi 2:1-11, 2 Cor 5:9).
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible is God's Word and is the ultimate final authority of truth. We believe that the 66 books of the Bible are God's authoritative, inspired, and inerrant Word.
We believe in one God that eternally exists and reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; each having the same nature and perfections. God is the sole Creator and Sustainer of the universe.
We believe that Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man, that He was born to a virgin, that He lived a sinless life, and was crucified to shed His innocent blood to pay for mankind's sin. He was bodily raised from the dead on the third day and ascended to heaven forty days later.
We believe the Holy Spirit is God and convicts of sin, regenerates, indwells, and seals all believers, filling them in response to their yieldedness with the goal of conforming them to the image of Christ. The Holy Spirit empowers believers making them effective in edifying the Church.
We believe that mankind was created in the image and likeness of God, but all sinned and will be judged for sin by being eternally separated from God.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting glory and the unbeliever to everlasting punishment.
We believe that God loved man and through Christ's substitutionary payment on the cross, has freed us from the penalty and power of sin. Salvation and eternal life is based on faith, not on works.
We believe the devil, Satan, is God's enemy, was an angel in heaven, but rebelled against God and has a demonic following. He is a deceiver and the father of lies who seeks to kill, steal, and destroy, but God is more powerful than the devil and gives power to believers to overcome him.
We believe the true church is composed of all people who are born of the Spirit by faith in Jesus Christ, that there is only one way to heaven, through Jesus Christ.
We believe the Christian should walk in holiness, seeking to please God in all circumstances. Study and obedience to the Bible, prayer, meeting with other believers, and telling others about Jesus will encourage growth as a Christian.
